Come aboard the Pacific Monarch and work the island the way the experts do. From the start, students begin documenting the diversity of ocean life in Southern California. Using scientific tools and apparatus, we explore marine life from up to six habitats over a three - five day period, duplicating the scientific method used by professional oceanographers.

Exploring the island and its surrounding marine communities is accomplished exploratory hikes, snorkleing and an extensive ocean kayaking trips. Students go home having accomplished an extraordinary survey of ecosystems between Long Beach and Catalina, having completed a voyage log, performed data analysis and reported findings regarding the health and diversity of the coastal habitats.
Each cabin aboard the Pacific Monarch has a private restroom and shower. All meals are included. Please contact us for a custom program and tuition rates.
