Whale watching season is fast approaching
and now is the time to reserve YOUR whale
watch experience with the Long Beach Marine
Institute! The ideal time for spotting whales
is between the months of January and March
during the rigorous migrations these magnificent
mammals make from the frigid waters where
they primarily feed to the warm waters of
their breeding grounds.
LBMI offers a three
hour excursion, led by one of our marine biologists,
on board the RV Challenger where you can observe
marine mammals and birds in their natural habitat.
Last year our whale sightings were 98% and we
are very optimistic for another successful season!
